Za 25 Nov – SKIPPABEAT (whateverska)

Deze Bredase ska band is inmiddels een begrip in Breda en ver daarbuiten. SKIPPABEAT zorgt met haar top muzikanten voor een allround ska show! Hun repetoire is ook dit jaar weer uitgebreid met nieuwe eigen tracks en die wil je niet missen!
Met hun “rocksteadyreggaepunkwhateverska” vliegt het alle kanten uit.
Ze hebben vaak het podium gedeeld met Mark Foggo, The Toasters en de Bazzookas die allemaal ook de Flaat al eens op z’n kop hebben gezet!
Stil staan is er bij deze band
niet bij. Hun show is pas geslaagd als het publiek één dansende massa is!
Kortom, hier wil je bijzijn!

Do 11 Nov – Baardvader en Thammuz

Baardvader is a fuzzrock three-piece inspired by 70s and 90s bands mixed with stoner elements. A familiar but unique sound presented in a modern way. Formed out of different bands, Baardvader returns to the essence of rock by injecting new energy to the genre. Definitely formed in early 2019 after years of playing in and out of different bands. Baardvader wrote and recorded their self-titled debut in spring and summer of 2019 and made the finishing touches to the album throughout the rest of the year. ‘Baardvader’ was released on January 31st in 2020 and was followed by a small clubtour the two months following the release, which was cut short due to the Covid-9 pandemic. Shortly after the pandemic hit the band started looking towards the future. During the two year gap the band wrote and recorded their second album ‘Foolish Fires’, finishing the final stages of the record during early 2022. Finally, after two years in the making, ‘Foolish Fires’ will be released October 1st 2022 to be followed with club shows during the fall of 2022.
Thammuz was founded in June 2020 in the Netherlands. In one weekend, Thammuz’ first album “Into the Great Unknown” was created. It was released on November the 18th in 2020. The reviews were great and the album ended up in second place on the international Doom Charts in November 2020. The genre was described as stoner rock and doom with psychedelic influences, as well as some grunge and blues. After 1,5 years, they finally played their first gig and went back into the studio. This resulted in the second album “Sons of the Occult”, which was released on Argonauta Records on 28th of October 2022. Thammuz managed to get into the Doom Charts for the second time. Sons of the Occult is described as gloomier and darker, but with the same diversity as its predecessor.

Halloweekend!

Ben je klaar voor een heel weekend griezelen in de Flaat?! Dit weekend is er elke avond iets te beleven in de Flaat.
Om het goed in te luiden gaan we alvast donderdag de 26ste beginnen met pompoensnijden! Hoe leuk is dat?! Pompoenen liggen al klaar! Het enige wat je zelf mee moet nemen is een lepel en een waxinelichtje (op batterijen graag)!
Vingers die per ongeluk verloren gaan zullen we als decoratie gebruiken.
Op vrijdag kan je losgaan op Ramskop, de band komt geheel in stijl een Halloween waardig feestje bouwen. Hij is een kadaver en komt speciaal voor jullie uit zijn kist om een optreden te geven. Ze hebben geweldige hits als “klootzak” of “koffie” om heerlijk mee te brullen.
Dit wil je niet missen. Kom verkleed of kom als jezelf als je durft.

Zaterdag kan je op je griezeligst komen met een mooi kostuum. Aan het eind van de avond is de prijsuitreiking voor beste kostuums. Je outfit zal beoordeeld worden in verschillende categorieën, waaronder beste duo, waarbij er prijzen te winnen zijn.
Vind je jezelf griezelig genoeg en kom je niet verkleed op deze dag dan betaal je een boete van €2,50.

Za 07 Okt – Oktoberfest

Het grote bierzuipende festijn gaat weer van start; Oktoberfest!
Trek je mooiste/meest sexy lederhosen of dirndl aan, laat het bier vloeien tot je niet meer kan staan. Je kan je spierballen testen door zolang mogelijk je pul bier omhoog te houden. Laat je skills zien door een spijker in een blok hout te slaan. Het belooft een onvergetelijke avond te worden.

Dit weekend hebben we tweemaal bands voor jullie weten te regelen. Zowel op vrijdagavond als op zondagmiddag staan er 3 bands op het podium. Op vrijdag komt onze headliner uit Oostenrijk, terwijl de headliner voor zondag uit het exotische Canada komt. Zie details hieronder:
Vrijdagavond, 20:00: NUFO (AT), Downtown District en Circle of Friends
3x punk voor maar €8,- !
NUFO has been established as “Nuclear Fallout” in 1995 in Graz, Austria. The initial meaning of the band was playing melodic 90s punkrock. And NUFO sticks with this plan for more than 25 years now.
Downtown District is a re-inventive punkrock band from the Netherlands. � Since it’s formation, the band is successfully re-inventing the 90’s skate punk sound while breaking down the walls between genres such as post-hardcore, drum ‘n’ bass and skapunk.

Zondagmiddag, 15:00: Skye Wallace (CAN), False Perspective en Bird Bird Bird
Skye Wallace [Toronto], With a skill in carving melodies and shreddable moments from rock foundations, Skye Wallace is also an expert at proving herself in every room, at every turn. The guitar-slinging Canadian road warrior has honed a visceral and honest sound, permeating equal parts Courtney Barnett, Patti Smith, and Neil Young’s Marshall Stack era. A live show from Skye and her band is guaranteed to make you let loose and feel something.
Bird Bird Bird [Rotterdam], is een energieke garageband die onlangs het levenslicht zag in Rotterdam. In 2022 hebben ze hun krachten gebundeld en zijn gestart in de underground muziekscene van kraakpanden. Onze muzikale invloeden, zoals The Doors, Jefferson Airplane en Black Sabbath, vormen een bron van inspiratie voor ons eigen geluid dat zowel trouwe fans als nieuw publiek kan aanspreken.
False Perspective [Delft], een band uit Delft met een stijl tussen pop, rock en indie in. Eind september brengen wij onze eerste EP uit met vijf zelfgeschreven nummers! De nummers vertellen persoonlijke verhalen over ingewikkelde relaties en vriendschappen, maar ook over grotere thema’s zoals verslavingen en oorlog.

DO 21 Sept – The Corps (CAN) en Blacked Out (CAN) (punk)

Ledenwerfweekend is weer voorbij, het seizoen gaat weer van start en beginnen direct met 2 bands uit het exotische Canada:
The Corps; “We are punk rock from Vancouver, BC singing about comic books. Enjoy!”
Blacked Out is a Vancouver, BC-based punk band on Thousand Islands Records. Their tunes blend aggressive riffs, catchy choruses, and thoughtful lyrics into a classic-yet-modern take on melodic hardcore.
